Left over insulin in reservoir

I have to change out my set today for the first time. I have lots of insulin left in res. I didn't use my full dosage of basal this time around. i don't want to just waste the insulin. Should I just reuse the res and just change tubing and inset? I personally think the insulin is still good. Its novalog. I started pumping Wed morning.

I have had a site go bad very early on. Just connect a new empty cannula to your skin and disconnect. You can reconnect the old tubing and insulin to the new site.

You can still use that insulin. It is still good. And if you want to refill the whole reservoir before you change out your sets, just put that leftover insulin into a separate vial and put it back into your reservior when you are ready. It is still good and it is really wasteful to just throw it away imho. There is another thread on this topic that comes to mind. Try a search on it and I'm sure you will find it.

I change my set every 3.5 days but only change the reservoir and the tubing once a week. If I still have any left over I will use it to manually prime the next set and do a partial fill on the next reservoir.

I change my set every 3.5 to 4 days. I change the tubing and resevoir only when the resevoir is empty. I get around 5 days out of a full resevoir. Never had a problem doing this.
