| | How long is the wait I recently sent in my insurance information to Animas to find out how much of the pump price my insurance company will cover, does anyone know how long that process takes from the time you send in your paparework to delivery of the pump? Secondly, how is training arranged once you received the pump? I am new to this and a little scared. It will be a big change from my traditional injection method that I have been using for the last 33 years, I am excited and scared at the same time. |

| | | The process is a little different for everyone. I never sent in anything, it was done by my doctor after my appointment. Medtronic then called me and got the ball rolling with my insurance. That whole process only took a week.
I also went to pumping after 16 years of injection. Best move I ever made. |

| | Hi rugby, I think I can help you out with this question. In my case, it was a little over 2 weeks ago that the paperwork was faxed to animas corp and only yesterday did I recieve the phone call telling me that I had been approved by our insurance. Now also, they told me that this Friday my pump will arrive at my home. I know all this is so new to you, was to me too and it was pretty scary but soon you will get used to the idea and find how much easier your life is because of pumping

| | | Less than 5 days. My wife knows how to work the phones and the Minimed rep helped a great deal.

| | | It took me about 2 weeks to get mine into my hand. I was a little skeptical of the pump at first after 32 years of MDI. Beleive me it will be the best thing you have done. It took a good month for me to gt everything down pat with the numbers but well worth it.

| | | Rugby,
Literally it only took me 1 week from the time I submitted my paperwork to Medtronic until I got my pump & supplies via UPS. Medtronic did everything! They got what they needed from my doctor and worked with my insurance company to obtain the approval.
Medtronic was awesome! I received the pump in practice mode, so I've been playing around with the pump, until such I can get into my CDE for training. I have the Minimed 722, so far it is works like I expected; plus some. It is easy to use and is very discreet looking. I got the 'clear' case.
I did get the opportunity handle and see the operation of the other pumps. The were okay, but the Medtronic pump seemed the best thought out and had the features that I would use.
If I hadn't selected the Minimed I would have selected the Ping. I wanted the larger reservoir of the 722. Oh, one last thing, to anyone who is worried that the Minimed 722 might be too large; no worries there. It is smaller than most cell phones.
Anyway, hope this information helps. Good luck!
