| | Hope this is not too negative....
I'm still not used to it after 2 yrs. I don't have a great spot for it . It's fine/comfortable when i wear pants with pockets, but if I'm around the house (as I usually am) wearing sweat pants, then I just clip it to the waistband and it is very visible...which makes me sort of uncomfortable if I go out in public. Also, the tubing tends to get tangled in kids' feet when I am holding them. Sleeping is not a problem at all for me. I either let it float or clip to my pajamas. I know a lot of women wear them in their bra, and this worked for me while nursing, but now...not so much. Not going to comment more on that!
All that said, if I do end up finding a comfortable and low key spot for it, it's hardly noticeable .
It's the ability to control my ever changing basal requirements that keeps me on it. It's great in that respect. Also, the cgms is such a comfort for those with extreme highs and lows.
For me, the positive far outweighs the negative, but it is uncomfortable.
Good luck!

| | | After 42 years of injecting insulin, I can honestly say it took less than 1/2 day to get used to wearing my pocket pancreas.
I love pumping and wont go back to injections ever.
I have been pumping for 17 months now.

| | | Same thing - a day or so, and when I go without it for a bit like at the gym, I sort of LIKE hooking it back up now. So weird. I also didn't want to be "tethered" and that held me back. That was dimwitted on my part. I love this thing.

| | | It took me more than a day, but less than a week to get used to it.
I always have mine clipped to my pants. With a long enough shirt it either doesn't show or barely shows (i.e. a bump). I thought it would bother me, having it visible, but frankly I really don't care. If I was 18 and wearing tight clothes to go out clubbing, it might, but I'm a 31 year old professional and mother...so it fits my wardrobe just fine. My only complaint is that it's difficult (but not impossible) to wear with a dress - so I've taken to wearing skirts and tops or dress pants and tops more than dresses. Again, no big deal.
Every now and then I've worn it clipped to the middle of my bra, but it's been fairly visible like that, so not ideal.
At night I clip it to my shorts or my shirt.
I've never had a child or dog or anything else get tangled in the tubing (and I have a VERY rowdy dog). I've managed to pull on the tubing and pull the set out while taking down my pants, but only a couple of times.
I've managed wearing a bathing suit with it, taking karate classes with it, doing yoga with it, and even had planned a whitewater rafting trip with it (which was cancelled due to the weather), and all have been fine. You learn to adjust REALLY quickly.
I totally understand your fears because they were mine too, but if you're like most of us on here, the adjustment period to wearing it will likely be very easy and very short-lived.

| | | The time it takes to get used to it is directly related to how much you want the pump. I had forgotten about the pump by the time we were at the fair the next day. Some days its more present in my life (wearing more than one layer can be problematic). But other times, its easy to forget its there. The few times its been "Ugh, what do I do with this thing attached to me?" are a small price to pay for how much better my numbers have been in the past two months.

I went back to MDI when my pump died (on a Saturday) and though I got back into the MDI routine quickly, really realized how much I liked pumping for the freedom it gives me. I was adamantly opposed to getting a pump for a variety of reasons but after a couple of days using it, I was hooked.

| | | My advice...........go for it!
It took me less than a week to get used to being connected to something 24/7. It's coming up on 4 years for me next month and many times throughout the day, I still forget I'm wearing it.
