My PCP filled out the requisite info this morning, and attached the all-important signature to Deltec's necessity form, and I have faxed all the required paperwork and information off to them a few minutes ago. Let's see how long this takes before I get my new Cozmore pump.
My 508's warranty ran out May 31...It's still cranking away, but now I have this weird, bugged out feeling like it may blow up or something.

| | Just when I thought I was over about going with a different company you have to bring the darn subject up again.  My warranty is up in Oct of this year so maybe just maybe I will have to start looking. What made you leave MM and what do you like about the pump you are looking into getting?

What made you leave MM and what do you like about the pump you are looking into getting? | Though some would argue with me, I have become a nobody to MM, and their recent support has been kinda weak in my book...And that weird call I got from them about my insurance from three years ago not paying and that I would have to pay--That was way too weird for me.
But more than that, I like the glucose monitor that is attached to the Cozmore...the fact that I am a "Freestyle" man already helps. And the large reservoir was a deciding factor too.

The ball is already rolling, the rep told me that in her experience my insurance company will approve the new pump sometime in the next two or three business days, so hopefully it will be approved by early next week.
She also informed me that supplies are covered at 100% (which I knew) but the prep-wipes and dressing will not be covered, so I need to try and get those covered by my prescription benefit, so we'll see.
So now I am a couple more steps closer to a Deltec Cozmore...

From the day my endo faxed the request and letter of need to the Cozmo rep (Smith med) until the day I received my new pump was 2 weeks.
United Health care too just 2 days to send out approval, yet I received their letter after I received the new pump.
I too changed from a MM pump to the Cozmo because I wanted a water proof pump, but now I am told not to swim in my pump for extended periods. Anyone know if there is a pump that can really take to the water for longer periods of time? |

| | I think all the pump manufacturers have some kind of caveat about swimming with their "waterproof" pumps...They don't want to be held liable. My concern about swimming is less with the pump than it is with the insertion set...I'd be afraid my set would fray and come off at some point.
I'm kinda getting excited at the prospect of a new pump...trying to stay calm.

Right off the website, out of my owner's manual and out of the mouth of the sales rep.
I however, have only tested mine to about 4 feet of water for about 3 hours so far.
