| | | Minimed 511 black version discontinued?! Hello!
Last weekend my MiniMed 511 turned itself off after saying "NO BATTERY", even though it never told me the battery was running out and I had changed it just a few days before. I called MiniMed and they replaced it, however they couldn't send me a black one since it was "discontinued", they had "production errors". The person I spoke to didn't know more, she sent be a new blue pump, two battery caps if they break, two MiniMed precission screwdrivers and two pencils :P
However I was just wondering what errors made MiniMed stop selling the black one? I'm missing my black pump The blue is nice too mut I miss my old pal :P |

bummer. If you were using Duracells, that's the most likely reason you had a problem. were you using Duracells?

| | | MM wants you to believe that its the other brand batteries fault. I had the same thing happen to me 2 times but I have ALWAYS used Energizer. They try to put the blame on you but if that fails then they try to blame the battery. After all that and they still haven't blamed something else then they huff and puff a little bit and send you a new one.

I've had my share of MM pump failures.

| | | What?? I can't believe they did away w/the black! I cannot figure that one out.
I had similar problems w/the MM pump and battery issues. It would lose all of my settings at battery change time, it would just stop working, all sorts of wonderful things.

Wasn't the black all speckly? Kinda metallic, but not like a car's metallic paint? |

| | My 511 is charcoal grey...is that one still around? I don't understand why they would do away with black either . Maybe they are phasing those pumps out, who knows?

I'm guessing their aggressive campaign to get everyone upgraded to a 515/715 from the 511 is because the 511 was their worst pump in recent history. |
