| | | apidra deal!!! ok, so I go to my endo today, and ask about apidra... and here is what I was told, figured if anyone out there wants to try it, or better yet those without insurance, here's a deal..
the endo told me, that aventis will not have apidra out on the market till at least feb. but, the endos can put people on it now, sort of a medical trial.. if the endo put you on it, aventis will supply you with 13 months of apidra for free... they will give your endo insulin for the next 12 months, and the 13th they will give you a coupon for a free months supply at the drug store when it hits the markets. my supply is ordered and I will be picking it up next friday, I will be getting 10 vials, and will be getting another 10 vials after that runs out. I have talked to people out there who have either crappy insurance, or no insurance, and find it hard to keep up, so here is a chance to try something new, and also it may help with keeping costs down a little bit.. (and no I am not an employee of aventis, just in case)...
My endo has 3 people on it now, and from what she has seen, it is stronger and faster then either humilog or novolog and has helped people get better control, esp if you have some form of insulin resistance..

| | That's good info, middnite! Are you currently on Novolog or Humalog? (sorry, can't recall at the moment)...

| | | Right now I am on humilog, I just get a sample vial of novolog to try out, to see if it's any better, last time I tried it it took longer to work, but maybe I did not give it a fiar chance, either way hopefully the apidra will work a bit better...

| | | so far so good. I can't give you a comparrison like other have with humalog and novolog. I started back on a pump 5/23/2005, and started right on the Apidra. I did have a high BG a few days ago during a site and cartridge change so I injected for the High. That did seem to bring my sugar down fairly quickly.
Just Courious - why did you pick MM - most seem to be going animas or cosmore now.

| | | well mm was a direct contractor for my insurance, so by going with mm, they paid for everything 100 %, and all supplies, I could have gone with another, but then my insurance would have only paid about 75 %.
