A close one

I went to a church party today and got distracted by my 2 kids(o this never happens to anyone )

anyway.. so I just hop right on into the pool without thinking... pump and all.. mind you I have a Minimed 515 ie NOT WATER PROOF... anyway.. I was in the water between 5 & 10 min when I realized I still had my pump on.. as soon as I realized my pump had been UNDER WATER for 5-10 I freaked and started pushing the buttons to see if it was still working.... and to my surprise it was still working and its still working.

Looks like I dodged a bullet today... like the title says, it was a close one

Hey,

We all do things w/o thinking :****mate:. I know I do way too often and then I get annoyed with myself. I think I need someone to tell me to wake up . Anyway, if your pump seems to be ok...I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I remember when they were first marketing the paradigm pumps as waterproof. Apparently, the seals failed on some pumps suggesting to them the pumps were not waterfproof. I've never experienced this... I've been using my pump underwater for as long as I've had it. I've never had a problem. I suppose I'm just taking a risk though.

When I first got my pump I looked at it and I thought, 'this sure looks water proof' but was told over and over that it isnt... maybe i got one of the good ones like you

It's just great that your pump didn't bite the dust, Clint. That was one of the major reasons I went with the Animas pump. It is gauranteed waterproof, and it's amazing how much more free I feel in regards to the pool and the beach.
