| | | right now i've just got the pump portion since the monitor attachment isn't approved in canada yet so i won't be able to help you with any problems directly related to that. i have had the pump part since mid march and i love it. i actually went without my pump on saturday night (i had a wedding to attend and opted for fashion and gave injections throughout the evening) and i couldn't wait to get hooked back up to it!
first things first ... have you named your pump yet? with the cozmo and the computer software you can have it so the name is displayed on the screen! eventhough i'm 26 i still get a kick out of it. my pump is named pumpy mcpumperson but sadly only 'pumpy mcp' fits on the screen.
i don't know which sets you are using but i'm using the minimed quicksets with the luer lock. the two sample sets i got with my pump (don't remember the name, but they were angled ones) were scary looking and had the super long needle. but just in case you didn't know, you can use whatever sets are available with the luer lock. you don't have to use just the one's supplied by deltec. so shop around to find out something that suits you.
is this your first pump? i find the cozmo very user friendly and even started myself up on it without any prior pumping experience (warning! i'm stubborn and impatient and don't recommend this).
there are a couple other cozmo users on this forum so hopefully at least one of us will be able to help you.
peace out!

| | | I had a MM 508 for four years, so I am still trying to get used to being Cozmore-centric than 508-centric...Like I still have to get used to telling the Cozmore how many carbs I am eating so it can bolus and do all the calculating for me, as opposed to doing the math and converting in my head. But the correction bolus and insulin-on-board are nice features to have...I don't know how I survived without those.
I am NOT a fan of this leather case--Makes this pump and Cozmonitor feel like it's the size of a brick.

| | | pockets mens pants always have pockets, ladies pants do not. The original hard plastic "holster" that came with my cozmo was cumbersom and often the pump fell out and hit the floor. I love the leather case, the clip is much better but at times still the clip lets go and off it falls. Dresses are often a real problem so I made myself a comfortably fitting elastic "belt" with a little pouch for my pump.
I did remove (cut off) the leather flap that covered the face of my pump as it was a real pain to deal with.
The cozmo pump seems more advanced than several other pumps I looked at and this is my 2nd pump, my 1st was a mm 507C, which I loved also.
Enjoy your new pump and the freedom it gives you. and as stated here earlier, try several different types of quicksets with the luer locks, find the one that is right for you. |

| | Yeah, I think I'll call them and ask for a second leather case and THEN cut the flap off the one I have now--that seems to make a lot of sense since it is near impossible to get the Cozmore out of the case even when you want it out.
I think their clips suck--that is really my ONLY complaint so far. The clip on my 508 was longer and wider, and held so much better that I would prefer to go back to that.

Not that I am fond of the case either, but it is much easier to deal with without the flap!

| | | Ya I'm loving my Cozmo. Still I need a name? Punky maybe lol.
I don't have a name for it yet and its my 1st pump.
I've done one site change (today is number2) and one cartridge change.
I think my fav feature so far would have to be the IOB b/c it tells you the remaining insulin in your body. The carb thing is taking a little to get to know considering we eat out most of the time so I'm really guessing about how much carbs it is and seem to guess fairly right.
I am using the infusion site things that came w/ my Cozmo and I do like it. Ya my aunt was like you have to put that big needle it I said it comes out it doesn't stay, she was like oh (shes an cna).
Do you keep you pump in your pocket or cliped? I clip mine to my seatbelt lol when I drive or in the cup holder.
edit: The leather case is alright. It's good to sleep with. I clip mine inside my shorts w/ the pump facing my body. The flap thing is a pain b/c you have to stretch it up and over to clip it.

| | | I've been clipping mine to me when I sleep...And putting it in my pocket...and letting it "float" beside me...I can't seem to get used to it. I hate to keep harping on it, but the MM 508 was just a little more slim and clipped better.

| | | I also cut my leather flap. I later called for a new leather case when I was told that I can easily slide it to the left when I need to see the screen or push the buttons.
The IOB and carb-bolus inputs work great once you get the pump settings (insulin duration, correction factor, target, insulin/carb ratio) set for where you need them.

Thanks Dave, I just did that, let's see how practical it is (for me)...

Dewey has a cell phone holder she uses for her Cozmo, I'm flirting with that notion. |

| | This could be a really stupid idea,(especially because I have no idea what the case looks like or how big it is) but why not use a little velcro to attach the two?
i'll sit down and shut up now....
