I did a sleep bolus last night. I woke up really high and went to do a correction. On the Minimed CGMS you can see a marker on the graph for wax bolus. I noticed one and checked my bolus history and saw I gave 2 units around 2am. I have absolutely no memory of waking up and doing it. It still didn't help my morning number!

Perhaps this is the Easy Bolus feature of a Medtronic pump gone awry?

It's hard to imagine it delivering a 20-unit bolus, but I did have an incident where I was leaning against a railing (waiting to enter an event) and bumped the pump enough that it Easy Bolus was ready to deliver an unexpected 5-unit bolus! Luckily, I heard the Easy Bolus beeps before I bumped the 'ACT' button against the railing and started the bolus. Since then, I've disabled Easy Bolus because I never (intentionally) use it.

Locking the keypad is another way to help prevent accidental boluses while sleeping/groggy.

Yikes, I have sleep-bolused, but your situation doesn't sound like that as the dosage was over the max bolus you had set. Scary stuff.

There are a lot of button presses for an easy bolus. You have to press a button for each step of insulin, then press ACT and wait for the confirmation beeps and then press ACT again to deliver the insulin. The fact that it requires multiple buttons in a specific sequence makes it much harder to accidentally program an easy bolus, but I suppose anything is possible. I have my Easy Bolus set for .2 unit steps so it would take a lot of button pushes to do major damage. I like the Easy Bolus because if you have it set up on the Revel it is the fastest way to check IOB. It is much easier to view on the EB screen than the home screen, no scrolling and searching for it among all the other info there.

I found this thread while looking to see if anyone else had experience with a Medtronic Revel with sticky buttons. Medtronic is replacing the pump but it sure was frightening when the numbers were going crazy on the pump screen. Also my blood sugar has been jacked up all week... I guess now I have a clue as to why.

a very hysterical retelling~ hopefully this issue has been resolved...made me do a double take..almost didnt attmept a pump bc i was afraid someone else cld deliver a wacky bolus whilst I was sleeping.
