If you are paying for them go for it. I use to (and kinda still do) reuse my cartridges. I would only reuse them once though. The problem is though I know when I use to order my supplies that they had to send me equal amounts or the insurance would question what I was doing and then if I wanted to return to normal again they'd have a fit. But personally, I don't see a problem with it. If you reuse them over and over and over though you may start wearing that rubber seal down or out of place and then lose the waterproofness of the pump.

I sometimes reuse the tubing for my Cozmo, and did for my 508 as well. But you have to "suck" the insulin in the tubing back into the reservoir first, or else you probably get a nice air bubble about 15-20 units in. I find this saves a decent amount of insulin, but I'd only do it every other change...Week-old insulin at room temp worries me, even if it is diluted by fresher insulin.

HOWEVER, be very careful if you do this...make sure your hands are properly sanitized, make sure the changing area is clean, etc.

I reuse the cartridges in my IR1200, normally about two or three times. I was actually shown how to do this originally with my 507c by my educator, so I dont see any reason not to do it now to save a bit of money.
