| | | scars from insertion sets I tried an insuflon (similar to an insertion set) & it left a slightly tender spot with a smalll scab followed by a scar which lasted a while. Would be interested to know if pump users find this a problem.
I have a mental picture of myself convered in small scars.

Ailsa | I've been pumping for 10 years come this May and I don't have any scars from infusion sets. Others may not be so lucky. |

Ailsa | Hi Ailsa,
I've heard of folks who've used Silhouette sets (which are almost exactly like the Insuflons), who have experienced some slight scarring, but it usually clears up.
I've also been pumping for 10 years, with no issues. Each person may be different, (i.e. dependent upon sensitivity level to sites, scarring, etc).

| | | I have small marks from my 3 years of pumping but they clear up within a month. So pretty much I only have about 8 little dots on my stomach from where infusion sets have been.

| | | Scar tissue I have scar tissue from my pumping days and some very light scars that have been fading and I think will eventually disappear. I think the scars are from sites that became infected rather than just routine set changes. |

| | | I use the Silhouette sets and do have some mild scarring when I use the thighs. They usually totally fade in a few weeks. Nothing permanent yet!!

| | I use the quicksets, and I do have some marks on my abdomen from where I've inserted them. But, the main reason for these, I think, is that I had a while when I didn't have insurance and I had to try to make my supplies stretch. So, I left my sets in for longer than recommended, and they became infected and such. I recommend never leaving the sets in for longer than you're supposed to! The marks are starting to go away though
