How long do batteries last in the Cozmo pump? Thought I read that they are supposed to last aroung 6 weeks, but we are changing out every two weeks or so. Maybe we should try the lithium ones?

| | | Mine last about 2 weeks. The manual states not to use "Lithium" due to improper charge and it might cause the pump to shut down. Others take this risk and do not have problems but you might want to think that through before you put your child at risk.

I just go to Costco and buy the GIANT pack of Energizer AA batteries.

| | | The Cozmo book says to only use Duracell and I figure it to be some kind of racket, but I didn't want to risk it. Something about the connection bump on a Duracell fitting the Cozmo better. Is it bunk?

Racket? I dunno (but I would suspect it...)
I have tried both Duracell and Energizer. I haven't seen any appreciable difference between the two. However, I have not put forth any effort to track the servicable life span between the two brands.
I use the Energizer because, again, you get the GIANT pack cheap at Costco!

| | | I use enegizer e batteries, i'mnot sure if they are lithium or not, i get the more expensive one s and they last about two months. much longer then the energizer max battereis which only lasted about three weeks. I don't use the vibrate function, so i'm sure that makes a difference. |

| | | The first week I had mine, I used the backlight a lot and looked at the various reports often. The battery lasted about 4 or 5 days. Once I stopped playing with it as much, the battery started lasting longer. I have most of the alarms on and I'm getting about 2 weeks from a battery now. FYI - I use Duracell Coppertop. I keep two spares in my bag.

| | | If you want to watch the little battery bar disappear, use your IR thingy to download the pump and meter to your computer! My battery life isn't long but AAA batteries are cheap compared to the special ones that the Disetronic took so I don't worry about it.

It's kinda like those duracell commercials (When doctors save a life, doctors rely on duracell). My wife did a research study on this very ad campaign and it turns out that yes all those stories are true but Duracell actually gave the hospitals that they mentioned, a huge supply of free batteries in order to have statements from the doctors and hospitals that duracell is better.

I forget which one it is, but Minimed pumps ONLY accept either Duracell or Energizer. If you put the other one in it gives you a low battery alarm.
Personally, I find the best batteries out there are the Energizer e2 batteries. They last about 5 times longer than a regular alkaline battery, granted, they cost about 5 times as much as a regular Energizer, unless you eBay a carton of them, then you can save money.

I use the Lithium in my Cozmore, and have Not had any problems. When I spoke to the rep. about it, he stated that the main reason Lithiums were not recommended for the Deltec, was cause they hadn't been tested. However, they power the pump the same as an Alkaline would, only offer longer battery life. I get approximately 5 (to sometimes 6) weeks of battery life out of mine.

They chose really well when opting for usage of AA Lithiums...
