Tried the Simple Choice Twist infusion set

SC sent me a couple replacements for the damaged ones I received recently. I just finished 3 days with one of them.

Here's my feelings about them.

1. I'm ambivalent about them because I see no real advantage over the Quick sets.
2. I had a very difficult time both connecting and unconnecting the tubing to the set. I'm not convinced that using them on a regular basis would improve that issue for me.
3. The cannula appears to the naked eye and to the "flick" test to be essentially identical in thickness and stiffness to the QS, so I figure that if a QS would kink under a particular condition, then the Twist would also.
4. I don't like the way they are packaged--too flimsy--doesn't inspire confidence.

Conclusion: I basically wanted to see if the Twist was a "step up" from the QS and now I have my answer. Personally I see no advantage to using them. I also wasn't thrilled with having to use the 9 mm, short tubing version of the Twist. That's all they would send me.

Tomorrow I'll receive my first full shipment of Sure-T's. Those will be perfect for avoiding bent cannulas, but so far they come only in the short tubing version, which is difficult for me to contend with, so I'm taking the bad with the good. I don't want any more 300+ bg's due to bent cannulas! NOTE: anyone paying for their own supplies--check out the price on the Sure-T's.
