Animas 1200 Infrared Interface

What device do i use to get the info off the pump using the infrared interface?
I have one of those Infrared transmitters used to get stuff off your mobile phone, although it doesnt seem to work.

Do you need something special?

Do you have the software also? I have an infrared receiver for a remote control for my computer and when I had the IR 1000 it worked fine for it. I haven't tried it with my IR 1200 as I haven't really seen a need to at all since to me it doesn't do that much, plus I need a software upgrade I haven't called for.

Not sure on the software, mine is well, old and still starts with a 3. I haven't even tried to ever see if it would work with my 1200 pump. Then again, I'd have to find the CD it came on.

I would try the TV card one and see if that works.
