Wanted: Popsicle recipe

My husband has been nagging me about eating so many "sugar-free" popsicles that have maltodextrin and sorbitol (I'm pregnant and he says I really shouldn't be eating that stuff). But with the heat here in the west, I've been so craving POPSICLES! I thought I could make some yummy ones with fruit juice and blended fruits (mango, berries...)

Has anyone made their own popsicles? Any recipes would be greatly appreciated.

When I was younger, my mom used to make sugar-free iced tea / lemonade ice-pops from some of those mixes you get at the grocery store. They were delicious as I remember (although a little watery as I remember, so you may want to use more mix than if you were making it to drink).

most juices make decent popsicles. i'm not sure what the main sweetener in tropicana's low carb oj but the juice tastes pretty good and might be decent frozen too. Or make decaf herbal tea and freeze that. but be sure to look up what ever ingredients in the herbal tea to make sure they are safe during pregnancy. Mint should be fine. My mom used to put a fresh mint leaf in ice cubes and then we'd put those in iced tea or ice water. you can also do the same with a twist of fresh lemon or lime.

These are tasty. I didn't have popsicle sticks, so I just ate it with a spoon.

1 4-serving-size pkg sugar-free orange flavored gelatin
1/2 cup boiling water
2 cups cubed ripe cantaloupe
1 8 oz carton plain low fat yogurt

1. In a small bowl stir together gelatin and boiling water until gelatin is dissolved.

2. In a blender combine gelatin mixture, cantaloupe and yogurt. Cover and blend until smooth. Pour into ten 3 oz ice pop molds or paper cups. If using paper cups, cover each cup with foil. Cut a small slit in the center of each foil cover; insert a rounded wooden stick into each pop. Freeze pops 4-6 hours or until firm.

3. To serve, remove pops from ice-pop molds or remove foil from paper cups; tear paper away from pops.

thanks guys! I'll have to try some of these. I went to get some of the ingredients and it figures, that darn maltodextrin is one of the first ingredients in the sugar-free jellos! Oh well... I'll let you know how they turn out.

check out the raspberry flavor...the ones here have no maltodextrin. Also try using the lemonade flavor of crystal light. You could also experiment with sugar free da Vinci...all liquid sugar frees have no "stealth" sugars!

Thanks! I just got into a big google search on "stealth sugars" and Dr. Bernstein and the da vinci bottles. I'll have to try some of that stuff with homemade salad dressings and seltzer (but seltzer probably has something stealth...) Anyways, thanks!
