We use it all the time, especially in a "breading" for chicken, fish, zucchini, etc. Blend equal parts almond flour, golden flaxseed meal and Parmesan cheese. Dip a piece of chicken (etc.) into a beaten egg, then roll into almond/flax/cheese mixture. Fry. YUM!

Heres a lower cost source

Natural Almond Flour 5 LB

I prefer "Natural" cuz the skins are ground into the flour ... adds a bit of fiber too. If you are going to get into baking breads I've heard that blanched is the way to go.

If you are going low carb and need things like protein isolates, unflavored gelatin (fruit flavor leathers), vital wheat gluten in bulk this is the place

It's $7 at local health food stores. I don't see how $10 is too expensive if you really want low carb cookies or other products.

Almond flour sounds pretty nuts to me.

*ducking*

I generally make my own almond and oat flours by throwing nuts and rolled oats (respectively) in the blender.

To make almond flour, just pulse almonds in your food processor or grind in your blender until the consistency of flour. You can make oat flour the same way, by putting oats (regular or old-fashioned) in your food processor.
