xylotol is a sugar alcohol, which WILL impact your blood sugar, les then table sugar, but none the less will still have an affect, and as with all sugar alcohols, if you use too much, it will have (has stated on the label) "a laxitave effect"..

http://www.lowcarbluxury.com/sugaralcohols.html

here is a place you can read more about it. because it has a little less of an impact on you blood sugar, and is not classified as sugar, the loop hole in the law says that a food that is made with this can be called sugar free, when in essence you are just eating a different kind of sugar....

I had just heard that Xylotol is fatal to dogs if they eat anything containing this sweetner. I just want to pass this information on to others.
If your dog does come in contact with xylotol there is a time frame of 30 minutes to be treated by a vet. Thank you.

I thought that may be another myth but I guess it is true. 3 grams can kill a 65 pound dog.
It lowers their BS greatly, too bad it doesn't do that for us
