My kids love smoothies (I do too!) but I haven't made any in almost a year becuase I can't have them the way I make them. Does anyone have a great low carb smoothie recipie? We love using blueberries. Any ideas would be great. thanks

You can always make smoothies with a bit of soy milk and some ice, or with soy cream. I believe it has less carbs than regular milk or ice cream.

Or perhaps light yogurt and ice. The possibilities are endless!

Hmm.. regular milk hardly has any carbs (12g per cup I believe). There really isn't any way to make a smoothie without having carbs. If you want a smoothie, you'll just have to substitute it for a meal one day.

thanks shellybelly, that one looks pretty good. The other "diabetic" ones that I've found had 30-45 grams of carb....ya, like I'm going to eat that. Anyways, I'll give this one a shot. Thanks

If you're fortunate enough to find Hood's Carb Countdown Milk, you can make a pretty low-carb milkshake or smoothie, depending on what you add to it.

8oz has 3g of carbs. It comes in white and chocolate. I add a scoop of vanilla ice cream (1/2c = 15g) and some fresh strawberries or blue berries into a blender, along with a bit of crushed ice. It's delicious!

How about using low carb yogurt, some fruit, ice and a little low fat milk? I think I will try that later today. Got lots to do today. Have a good day.
