Morning Rush-Hour Burrito

Saw this on the ADA web site.

All those against the ADA, avert your eyes

1 TBSP cream cheese, low-fat
1 6-inch flour tortilla
1 tsp strawberry jam, low sugar
1 New Zealand kiwi fruit, peeled & thinly sliced (or another type of fruit if you like)

1. Spread the cream cheese over the tortilla. Spread the strawberry jam over half of the tortilla.
2. Place the kiwi slices over the other half of the tortilla. Fold the two sides together and serve.

That sounds really good......But, really high carb.....Those tortillas will kill your carb count alone. I'd be interested in seeing the nutrition info for it too.

I use the tomato & basil tortilla, 18g carbs. Much lower than the regular tortillas.

Eeek. That sounds far too sweet for sour, old me. I think I will stick with my usual, though maybe variety is good. I could likely do something similar (with fewer carbs) with low-fat cottage cheese or avocado and veggies to make it more savoury than sweet.

Substitute low carb tortillas and sugar free jelly and sounds good to me...

The one TBSP of sour cream would work but not the low fat. The old DP would be licking his lips at the rest.

From the ADA recipe web site:

Serving size - 1 burrito

Exchanges per serving - 1 Starch, 1-1/2 fruit, 1 Fat

Calories - 211
Calories from Fat - 51
Total Fat - 6 g
Saturated Fat - 2 g
Cholesterol - 10 mg
Sodium - 220 mg
Total Carb - 36 g
Dietary fiber - 4 g
Sugars - 14 g
Protein - 5 g

I agree about using low carb tortillas & sugar free jam/jelly. I would also use a different fruit since I don't really care for kiwi.
