Question Would you eat this?

The "Luther Burger" Lives In St. Louis

St. Louis, MO (AHN) - The Gateway Grizzlies, St. Louis' single-A baseball team, will serve up an unhealthy and loveable snack this season; a cheeseburger on a Krispy Kreme doughnut bun.

According to CBS, for a mere $4.50 it's breakfast, dinner, and a little dessert all in one. That it packs up to 1,000 calories - the donut alone has 10 grams of sugar - doesn't seem to faze diabetic diner Floyd Schuetz, who says, "Oh, I'll have another one of these."

Such an invention is often called a "Luther Burger" after the late Luther Vandross, who according to internet myth-busters, Snopes.com, had the burger named after him on the belief that he loved it, and may have also invented such a treat.

Some claim that Elvis used to eat burgers using jelly donuts as the buns. Or something like that.

I seem to recall one of the Memphis Mafia claiming that in one of their tell-all books.

Oh my Lord!! LOL I don't think I would have eaten that even before being diagnosed, when I could have put a truck driver to shame with how I could eat!

Some things are just WRONG, and a hamburger on a donut is one of them!

I seen a video where they were showing a diabetic eating one. Then the guy says he would have no problem getting another.

It turns my stomach to think about it. Not now, or even before diabetes!!

I eat like a wee bird as it is... and that just sounds nasty... eww.

Too much sugar, atop and beneath dead cow... yeah--fit for a king...

lemme tell you...

I can't eat sugar like other people can... I watch my younger brother eat three candy bars and wonder how, I can't finish one, too much sugar for me, it tastes too sweet... any one else have that problem?

Yeah, I cant eat a lot of sugar either. bleh. It takes me a week to eat a candybar because I cut it up and eat little bits at a time.

I guess we're just used to not eating it, not to mention that if you eat something repeatedly and it makes you feel sick repeatedly you kind of get conditioned to not want it.

I like sweets but I prefer them to be not so sweet. Krispy Kreme was always over the top sweet!! You know the Monte Cristo sandwich at Benigans has powdered sugar and you dip it in jelly. My kids before I was diabetic took me to Treat me to this wonderful find and was in dis belief when I told the waiter to hold the sugar and the jelly. The thing still was a funnel cake with a sandwich inside. It was good without the the sugar and jelly I will say. I would be hard pressed to eat it now, somethings just aren't worth the grief!!!!
