Costco Pizza... WHOA

Ok... so my wife and I decided to use our Costco coupon for $3 off a whole pizza... Just checked dietfacts.com for carb info and whatnot...

One slice (mind you it is 1/6 of the pizza) has 69.2g of carb and 33g of fat!!!

Good thing we rarely do pizza anymore! Good thing there is Symlin and combination boluses!!!

That sounds about right. I generally use 30 grams per slice (it's an average) so that makes a normal 8 slice pizza 240 carbs. I know Costco is a huge pizza, so I can see 420 carbsd for a full thing. Pizza is crazy and depending on which brand you get, it can be a huge difference.

Yes, seeing the size and sixth fractions, it breaks down to be similar to most. Maybe it was Carb Sticker Shock...

their salad is not low cal by any means, either!

Yes, and even the chicken caesar salad is loaded! I've determined that if I eat there, to not get too much fat and calories, I can have 1/2 a chicken caesar salad - according to Calorieking.com, the caesar has 800 cals, 57 gms fat, 32 gms carbs. Yikes!

For a single slice of a large thin crust supreme from Pizza Hut, I bolus for 22g of carbs. And a few extra units of insulin using an extended bolus for the protein.
