| | | chicken fingers We were meeting friends at Max and Erma's at 5. In the car about 4:40, I felt sick, tested and was 48. I ate 4 glucose tabs, if it did what they usually do, I should have been at 72. We ordered right away, and because we were there early, got served by 5:30. I ate chicken fingers (pretty big serving), coleslaw and steamed veggies. I guessed, and took 15 units of Novolog, about 1/2 way through the meal. We sat around talking for about 2 hours, and got home about 8:30....... When I finally thought it might be a good idea to test. I was 74! Wouldn't it be nice if this happened everytime I ate out? Now I am considering having a serving of icecream.

| | YaY Penny!!! I LOVE those kinda days! I just had one myself. Was 96, we got take out, I had a Calzone (BAD ME!! LOL But OH SO GOOD) I bolused 7u. Checked about 2-1/2 hrs later and was 88! YaY! Add in also that I am SICK!! Yik!! Though I don't normally go high when I'm sick, I usually have to watch for going low. I think maybe because I don't usually have an appetite when I'm sick? Which I didn't all day, just ate a couple peices of peanut butter bread, to keep myself from going low. But by tonight, I was hungry! LOL And still, never really know what Diabetes is gonna do, so I'm always ready to expect the worst BG wise .... either way, high or low!

| | Hey Penny, That's a good night's tea and well planned too.
I have made a mistake today as i was planning to go to the market in bittern so i had 5.4 / 97.2 BG and bolused 30U of rapid but i only had 3/4 of my porridge and left for the train to the market so when i arrived back home i decided to finnish the rest of my porridge. Well that was my mistake as i should bolused again but i did not!!! So just before lunch i have tested 23.3 / 419.4!!!!!! F**** so i have to bolus hard! so 38U for lunch and 20 minuets later had it down to 10.4 / 187.2 and had a light lunch and now low 3 hours later of 3.3 / 59.4 so i will have some jelly belly beans.
Jeez, I should had known better Penny |

| | And......after eating a whole tomato from the garden and peanutbutter on whole wheat, at 11 last night....100 this morning! I have been struggling all week with my fasting numbers, averaging 135. Maybe I need to eat chicken fingers more often. Or maybe it was all that gabbing with friends I had not seen for a year.
