Vacation

Well, I'm just about to leave on my first vacation since my Dx in January. Have packed lots of low-carb meals plus some fruit & crackers in case my #s get a bit too low. Dinners however will probably be at restaurants, so I've got to watch it there. Luckily there's a Sizzler right across from the hotel, I'm told, and I love their salad bars (as long as I can stay away from the bread!)

San Fransisco, here I come!

Have a great vacation! I find that when i'm on vacation, I get so much more exercise than regularly, that my blood sugars are even better than usual.

Have Fun!

Sizzler used to be one of my favorite restaurants when i was a kid. I do like their salad bar, and its pretty reasonably priced.

I miss Sizzler. There are no Sizzlers around here anymore.

Thanks, Karen!

I'm already back, actually, but had a great time, except for the car breaking down on the way home - thank goodness I'm a dispatcher for a towing company!

Did ok on the food...not as good as I would have at home... but managed to stay away from the breads at dinner every night (which are my weakness when I go out to eat) and limited my potato to 1/2 of a baked potato each night. (I just couldn't say no to both the bread & the yummy baked potato...)

I packed my own breakfast & lunches so they were fairly low-carb. Actually went a bit low one afternoon (74) so I had a handful of mini ritz crackers and peanut butter I had packed with my lunches but hadn't eaten at lunch time because that was the only carbs nearby and I wasn't going to be eating dinner til about 3 hours later.

Gosh, I am so mad you are back already. I was going to suggest some great sites in SF. Beach Blanket Babylon is a hoot in a half. I hope you got to see it. There are wonderful places to visit. I hope you will share some pictures!
