| | | I eat at Panera Bread often and usually have no problems because I stick with the same menu items.
I met a friend for lunch last Thursday. I ordered the "You Pick Two"...... a 1/2 caesar salad and a 1/2 smoked turkey with cheese on low carb pumpkin seed. It also comes with your choice of an apple, bag of chips, or a small baguette. I chose the bag of chips (17g) but only ate less than half of them. They made a mistake and gave me a full sandwich, which of course I ate!
I was 71 before eating. I bolused for 40g of carbs. The low carb pumpkin seed has 9g per slice (18 total), the caesar salad (no croutons) I estimated to be 12g, and 8 for the chips. I also drank an iced coffee with lots of half & half. Three hours later I tested at 113.

| | | I've never had luck with the sandwiches. The salads I can get lucky because the carb content is so low. |

Anybody have good luck eating at Panera Bread? Seems everytime I bolus according to the nutrition information they put out, I end up high or low... | When eating out I often use the "BirthdaySpanking" Axiom.
I don't know about where you "Growed up" but people got birthday "spankings"--so many swats for the numbers of years old they were and the was always an added"And One to grow on."
That's what I've started adding to my boluses when eating out, "And One to grow on."
BTW, I LOVE eating a Panera's, just across the street from work.
Since I'd much rather be low than high, I guestimate the carbs and then add one unit extra and then set the timer on my watch for 1:45 instead of 2:00 and check the B/G more often.
