Info on new Diabetes Documentary

Any one heard anything about this movie before?

Pasted from an article in latest Diabetes in Control newsletter:

CONQUERING SUGAR MOUNTAIN. In August 2005, nine brave teenagers living with juvenile (Type1) diabetes will show the world the real meaning of will, determination and self-achievement. After nearly a year of fund raising and training (both physical and mental preparation), they took off to Tanzania and climbed the highest mountain in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro.

Due for release in early 2007, this feature-length documentary, centered around three teens (Zach, Elyse, and Katlyn) will follow the nine youths , and expedition leader Sebastien Sasseville, also diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, on their journey to raise awareness and find a cure for their shared illness. Conquering Sugar Mountain will bring to light the daily challenges, struggles and societal misconceptions ( and the mountain of ignorance it raises) facing someone with juvenile diabetes. This documentary follows the courageous team throughout their intense physical and mental preparation and all the way to the roof of Africa.

Conquering Sugar Mountain captures the determination and perseverance of these youths and provide hope, strength, and inspiration to anyone facing the obstacles of Type 1 diabetes.
The film strives to:
1. Promote Awareness about diabetes, Type 1 and Type 2
2. Inspire those living with Diabetes that they do not have to live life in fear
3. To Educate the public, and medical professionals bout the treamtnet and care of Diabets
4. To help promote Diabetes foundations like the JDRF and help further their cause.

That's awesome! I look forward to watching it. About a month ago I saw a special on PBS-HD that followed hikers to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro. Only about half the people that went on the trip made it to the top due to oxygen restraints. I was thinking how great it would be to do such a trip.

I hadn't heard of that, but I know one of the nine teens who went climbing (he went to high school with my brother), so I'll definitely be looking out for the documentary. Very cool!
