Suffering greatly from ED. No fun time. Is it possible to reverse through diet, exercise, weight loss?

I do not know, but, if it is related to peripheral neuropathy, it should be?

Make sure you talk with your Doctor but really the answer is that "BG control is job one". I understand that most if not all complications of D can be delayed, stopped in their tracks, or even reversed with improved BG control.

Yes, but talk to your doc before you do any of the following I will suggest that has worked for me:

BG has to be under control, small periphial blood vessels in that area have limited room, high BG dams things up, need to open them.

L-Arginine, Wal-Mart, 5000 mg/day, you will notice a difference in 3-5 days.

Gingko
Alpha Lipoic Acid
Do not try Yohimbe, it will kill you, darn did me.
Fish Oil, 6000mg/day
Vit D3, 2 weeks on 2 weeks off high doses of 10-20,000 iu

There are others, these have given me the best response.
Build testosterone thru large muscle exercise, thighs, back, arms. I am not currently under Doc care, but will have my Testosterone checked when I am.
---------------------------------
Asprin 2-6 325mg per day
Amino Acids, Vitamins Bx, C, D, E
Hi-Maize 260, Ground and Whole Flax Seed
COQ10, Magnesium, Zinc, Fish Oil, Lisinopril
A1C estimate of 10-12 at dxed 5.6, 4.8, 4.6
Everyone has something to offer, you just have to listen

Thanks for the responses all. BG control it is - got a ways to go there.

MCS - thanks for the natural product pointers. I have saved you post and when my BG is ready I'll reference it.

Cheers!

You may also want to see a Urologist. There are lots of options available, and they can work with you to see which is best for you.

That's for sure! I'll think of it when running or rowing or biking or lifting. It would be great to think of it when struggling with tasty carbs, too.

That's a big relief. My doc said I can't go on Viagra and others because of my risk for heart attack. I'm a mess!

You are NOT a mess, you are merely in the process of straightening yourself out. And you do not want expensive nasty drugs if you do not NEED them, anyhow!

Positive thinking. I like that. I added my other meds, that I can think of while at work, to my sig. I am supposed to be taking an aspirin too, but I haven't gotten around to buying them. It would be nice to drop a few of these meds. Two lifelong diseases doesn't really help that much in some cases.

I am sorry to hear this. I am having issues in this department too, but different of course.

and it is probably alot different for men.

but I did know someone that my sister was dating a long time ago with diabetes that after over a year, I would say, of pretty good control, had some improvement. whos to say why for sure, i don't know what all was tried. maybe I could ask her though.

I know he did try viagra and it didn't work anyway.

anyway, i know this must be really hard but know matter what your future is, good control is the best desicion you could make for every reason.

I'm unhappy to let you know that we have a few things in common: DMII, ED, atherosclerosis, CAD, PAD? I got em all and learned a few things that might help you. First of all, you might want to check your drug interactions. I use:

DrugDigest

but there are several available. Once you do that you'll probably find some stuff to look into. Reading the prescribing information (PI) that each drug has can help understand its side effects. That's the easy part.
Microvascular disease is a very common complication of diabetes. Most everyone knows about getting eyes checked once a year but the small artery thing kind of gets overlooked. Of the many different causes for ED, insufficient blood flow for a diabetic is near the top of the list. This can be tested and measured and if you have this problem, then the astute doctor will start looking for lots of other, and potentially much more important problems.

I lost over 100 lbs and my BS is back in the normal range. No problems with ED now also! The weight loss also "returned" about 2" of what was hidden in rolls of fat too. There is motivation for you to use also!

Yes, it seems we do. I also have the beginning stages of COPD and I am Bipolar type 1.

Thanks for the link and the encouragement to have my doctor look for other signs. I see her in the morning...
