I have got a Accu-Chek for my dad. He used it for couple of days now suddenly it started giving Error: E-5. I removed the lower cap and cleaned lens. it still did not work. I got a new box of strips however it still gives me the same error. Can anyone please help me fixing this error.

You might want to take advantage of Accu-Chek's FREE upgrade to an Aviva. The Active is fairly outdated. There are posts here from as far back as 2006 that complain about E-5 errors with the Active. Probably why Accu-Chek offers a free upgrade.
