I probably average 3-4 a week where I drop down to 60 and need to treat.

I average about 1 or at most 2 times a month under 60. I'm a T2 on a pump, with a 100 average.

I had two in the past week, and I can attribute them to lazy eating habits, i.e., days when I don't bring a salad for lunch or have a good breakfast. Take-out food, even in the right balance, throws me way off.

I interpreted that as my body not being able to utilize the glucose flooding my system and considering itself to be in a state of starvation evidenced by the raging hunger for high carbs.

After my dx I began eating low carb (omitting all grain products like pasta, bread, baked goods; potatoes and most root veggies, corn and peas) concentrating on meats and fish, eggs and low glycemic green veggies. I do eat fruit in limited quantities spaced out over an entire day. I also eat nuts and various full fat dairy products in moderation. I find that keeping within a tight range became much easier when my diet is limited in this way.

I consider readings below 65 to be low. I sometimes do go below that threshold (mostly because of strenuous activity during the day or a gross miscalculation of my bolus) but generally stay within a tight boundary between 65 and 110.
Thank you, Yeah, I put it as pre diabetes since their was no hypo title. But here's the rundown. Before I was diagnosed with hypo, My diet consisted of lots of Pasta, tomato sauce type foods(speghetti, pizza, etc) along with hamburger, hot dogs, etc, I ate normally and not over ate and also ate fruits and veggies. I never ate alot of junk food, my weakness was the Dr. Pepper(I swear it was running through my veins). I've had the hypoglycemic symptoms for two years but the other doctor's never paid attention to them until I switched to a new doctor's due to insurance changed. So this doctor actually listened and ordered up tons of blood tests and then some, and found out that hypoglycemic is what my problem was and now My diet has changed and being monitored, but still my BG isn't increasing like it should be. So now I'm waiting for the results for a insulin test and one other test(that I don't know what it's for). And wait for the doctor to tell me what to do next. It does now scare me because last night when I felt aweful, my BG was at 42 and I could barely test and then fell asleep until morning. It's was scary. Thank you so much for the info.

I'd have to say only one or two a month...and I purposefully under treated to achieve that. After a scary hypo episode last fall, I have a healthy fear of them....and I exercise a fair amount, and am leary of going low when I'm out bicycling.

But, you spurred to ask me a question about control, which I did in a new thread....

Do the folks who have more lows actually overbolus? (whilst I underbolus to intentionally avoid them?)...and is that tighter control, or potentiall suffering damage in the short term (the hypo) to avoid the cumulative damage of slight high excursions over time? (I suppose that should spur me to over bolus....hmmmm)

Anyway, thanks for the thread...it's a good one to think about.
