Well, it's only been a day and a half so I think it's too early to really see the effects yet. I certainly haven't had any lows, though.

So far, it burns and the injection site swells up after I give it, but it goes down within a couple hours.

Ok, after longer on the Lantus, I *am* having a problem with it. Specifically, it's lasting like 27 hours for me. Since I'm on a 5 unit dose, this means that during the overlap I'm dangerously close to my total basal needs. I discovered this by having lows during and after dinner (which never happened before), and the night I went to the store and walked around during that time period, I was 50-something for about an hour. Yes, I was shoveling carbs into my mouth.

Now, I was trying to stick it out since I was hoping to get my pump soon and I didn't want the setting to be really complicated just because the Lantus was working differently for me. But I just learned Monday that the training was further off than I thought - the 27th. So Monday night I started taking 4 units of Lantus and so far I seem to be doing much better. I haven't tried to exercising or anything during the overlap yet, though.

Where are you going for training? Is it one of the Medtronic classes?

My (new) endo's office has everyone go through Joslin, so I'll be doing the training there.
