Frustrated and Needing to Vent...

I am frustrated myself for not keeping better tabs of my A1c's this year, but I am especially frustrated because I cannot get in to see my new endo until late Jan 2007 (changed health ins. and current endo is not a provider). The new endo office said that if my existing endo would call and recommend that I be seen sooner, they would do so. Problem is, my existing endo will not call the other office, as I have not been seen since late 2005.

So here I am, my 90 day averages have been about 160 (higher than normal), I am doing my best to control with diet and exercise, but I have to wait till late Jan to start the process all over again with a new Endo....exam, order labs, meet and discuss treatment options...it's a bit frustrating...

Are there any suggestions as to what I might do for the time being? I even thought about having my wife call the new endo's office, pretending that she is my old endo's assistant...recommending that I be seen sooner

Update: My new endo office moved my appt up to Jan 2 2007, which is a big improvement!

Your appt. was moved up which is great... also you could ask to be called in the case of a cancellation... maybe get in even sooner. Try dropping some carbs from your meals.. good luck.

Having a full diabetic diary (food, exercise, BG readings, medication) will be very useful when you see your new endo. Start it today, if you don't have it.
Good luck.
