| | Tomatoes affect me negatively. I assume that because you're low carbing that you had dressing on the side...but was it a high carb dressing?
I don't much like salads anymore. They've become too boring and eating a tomato, for me, is a bad thing. |

| | Salads and tomatoes do now hurt my BS at all....most salad dressings are low carb, too. Sometimes a meal I had hours earlier will cause a rise for me. Also, if I am not feeling well or have a bunch of stress. Last night I ate a plate full of fried catfish (YUM), a very small serving of slaw. I was 78, before I ate, I took a large injection of novolog, and my Metformin. 3 hours later, I was 123. Went to bed without eating anything else, woke up at 190. Who knows why, just happens sometimes. Keep checking, I have had good numbers all day, without much correction.

| | We all have days when the numbers are messed up for no reason. One time I was very low at the grocery, I ate a couple of strawberries and tested. and I was very high, in about 10 minutes. Some kind soul on this forum told me, I probably had strawberry juice on my fingers. Another Dear person on this forum said sometimes it has something to do with how the planets are lined up. One thing that helped me more than anything was when our Dear Duck told me to drink lots of water. When something happens with no good explanation, I just test more often, and wait it out.

| | | I am wondering what you had for the meal before you ate this salad. If this salad was a lunch salad, what was your breakfast that morning? Was the breakfast full of bacon or other high protein foods and eggs? A lot of times fatty foods for a meal can come back to haunt you several hours after you eat. It may not have been the salad that was the culprit, but the meal you ate earlier in the day. |

And what is the carb count on the dressing? I kind of doubt the dressing is the culprit- you would have had to use a lot of it, but still...

You don't get 381's from bacon, salad dressing, or cheese cubes. A 300pt rise is equal to about 60gms of carbs, Liver dump for sure. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
