wow, I don't know, but I think maybe you should consult your doctor with a sustained BG that high! It can be dangerous. Have you checked for ketones???

My dear, you need to get healthy before you worry about losing weight. Once you are at your ideal weight, you want to be around a while to enjoy it.

See your doc immediately. Ask for an appointment with a Certified Dieabetes Educator. Learn how to figure what insullin you need. It will be complicated for a while because of your type of diabetes, but you can do it. There are many well-qualified T-1.5s here to help you out.

Please take care of you. Let us know how you are doing.

Mich

Welcome Marissa.

You seem to be in a tough situation. Where did u inject? For needy corrections, I shoot up in my triceps then do some light exercise with the arm. I find shooting into fat areas too risky as sometimes it just won't take.

I hope you stick around to try to find some answers for your problems. We're all here to help in any way we can.

How did it get up so high?

Honestly, the best people to learn how to manage day-to-day are other diabetics. My doctor and endo know squat about the ins and outs. They know the theory, but they've never lived through this ****.

Others are correct - you can do more for yourself than your doctor/endocrinologist (except prescribing medicine...).

Can you tell us what insulin(s) and other medication you're taking, and how much?

I would also stay away from the carbs and especially refined foods until things are in check.

Marissa, hello!

1) what are you eating?

2) you do not say whether you are on anything to address insulin resistance. Or how much insulin you take daily. In my case I think it is helping. Once you get your BG under control, that might be something that you find helpful.

I too would say call whatever MD you have, immediately, or go to the ER. If you are ketotic you will need to have dehydration and electrolytes addressed, BEFORE you can get your BG and all else under control.

I am sorry that I do not have any suggestions except to listen to the others, since my BG has never been that high. I might add that you can drink extra water to help your body get rid of the excess sugar.

Are you counting your Carbs? Are you keeping a log of what you eat and the insulin you inject? This can help you to figure out what causes your BG to spike. There may be certain foods you will have to avoid. I don't know anything about Insulin but there are others here that will help you to understand it if you will let them know what your are taking.

Wish I was more help but I am concerned. Keep us posted.
