Sorry .....but

am I slow or something? When I was reading Shabby's post I was reading it as it was her own experince and that she found something that works for her. Wheather she posted it in the wrong / right spot .... who gives a ....

Why are "some" people on this forum so quick to jump on someone else's "parade".... She didn't ask or invite anyone to join her on this raw / alkaine diet... the way I read it ... she was just informing what she discovered for herself.

I only joined this forum not so long ago ( maybe 2 months) and was told that diabetes was a personal thing and what may work for one may not necessarily be what works for another... so why all the angst against Shabbie....

Was it not just so long ago a post was put up ... "Can't we all just get along" and as for newbies following everything that's said on this forum.. well frankly sorry but I don't think anyone is that foolish or naive to think that everything here is gospel...After all it is just a forum of UNTRAINED, UNPROFESSIONAL in the field of Diabetes who are managing their OWN Diabetes!: A forum to exchange and maybe support ideas etc ... not accusation of if a person is type 1 type1.45 etc etc. I found this quite childish and frankly really disappointing.... am not sure if I want to come back to this forum.

I've also re-read the post, and I don't see how she was suggesting that she had a "cure" for diabetes.

She was only sharing her experience.

Sometimes people in here are overprotective of fellow posters, claiming that "newbies/inexperienced" persons could misunderstand things. AFAIK all in here are adults and can think for themselves. The impression I get is that the critisizing posters think that she wants to lure type 1 diabetics in to suicide to accomplish some kind of devilish plan of her own.

My opinion is that true type 1 diabetics are people that had their pancreas removed, their insulin production is quite nill, although a recent discovery indicates that the brain also produces insulin.

Most of the rest seems to be capable of still producing some insulin of their own, which, to me, is quite obvious from various postings of long standing "type 1".

According to Dr. Bernstein, he only knows of 2 cases of type 1 diabetics that have no measurable insulin production, himself and a patient of him.

This would explain, why some people diagnosed as type 1, can thrive on a raw food, low carb diet without the need of insulin.

And the OP deserves all the respect, since she has long standing experience in using insulin and was able to reduce, stop, synthetic insulin consumption with a diet change, showing in her case, that it works.

She hasn't to demonstrate anything as a grotesque post demanded earlier.

I can understand that some claims will raise suspicions about the intentions of the poster, after all there are a lot of snake oil salesmen outthere, but sadly enough it goes both ways, the salesman can be a "respected" member of the community, a "respected" company that wants to sell their products or just a wacko with outlandish claims that wants to sell his/her books, pills, whatever.

But I can't see that with the OP. It's a shame she was hounded out. I would love to read more from her experiences.

Thank you for your time.
