Red face Get pregnant ??

May be I also called in type 1.5
My endo'd first Dx is MODY when I'm 28 YO last year! My thyroglobulin Ab - negative result. I have only my grand mom type2 .. So may be I'm new mutation ? Coz MODy is autosomal dominant... I'm in honeymoon period with diet control for 1 yr . I was moved and my new endo told me I'm LADA. And I start Novorapid before meals and INH before bedtime.

I get married for 3yrs . Still confused to get pregnant or not? If I'm Mody, I don't want my baby at risk. But If I' m LADA why my autoimmune test was negative?
And how about Lavemir in pregnancy?
If U R type I or Mody or LADA, how about Ur experience in get pregnant?
God bless U all

Welcome to the Forums. I hope you find answers to your questions soon and can make an informed decision about whether or not to have children.

I am happy to be alive and am thrilled that my parents had me, despite the fact that I developed diabetes. Children are at risk for many things, but they are also able to experience *LIFE* and play, friends, family and joy. Just because you have a family history of diabetes doesn't mean that your children will develop it (and if they do, hopefully you have been an excellent role model of how to live well with diabetes).

Good luck!

I don't know all of your story. But origionally, I was diagnosed as MODY as well. later, c peptides showed I am more a LADA.

My story, in short, was that when I becaem pregnant, by BG's became so high I ended up in the hospital and someone finally checked me for diabetes. I had a healthy baby girl. the pregnancy was the hardest thing I ever did, but the best thing, because the scare of harming my child was great enough that I lived, and continue, to live as healthy as I possibly can. I was closesly watched by alot of doctors, who I saw more often than family. I found the birth was the hardest part I was induced 2 weeks early as she was growing so quick, and hooked up to alot of IV poles and the whole shabang.

talk to your doctor, and if its diabetes is the only thing preventing you from having kids, it shouldn't stop you, unless you let it. you just have to be SUPER controlled, and careful.

I also was on humalin N, and humalin (r?) at the pregnancy, going through about 1 pen vial a week.
