Hypo Unawareness

I have talked with my GP and my Endo about this extensively. I have complete hypo unawareness. I have tried running higher than normal many times in an attempt to get my awareness back. It never worked on me. Everytime I get in my car the first thing I do is TEST.

About once or twice a month I can get a few days where all my rates on my pump are just not working for me. It's almost like my pancreas has kicked back into a non diabetic mode. I never know when these periods are going to hit me or how long they will last. Sometimes it lasts a day, the last one lasted for 5 days. There doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason to them. It is almost to the point where I am starting to think about trying to get one of those hypo detecting dogs.

Does any other type 1.5's have this difficulty?

Yeah, I definitely do. But I figured I got it from having near constant hypoglycemia for 10 years before diabetes.

I do sometimes have trouble getting awareness back. Generally, though I can just run higher than normal for a couple of days and awareness magically comes back.

Yes I get that from time to time, I tend to run lower than I should sometimes. I have been running a bit higher lately, not by choice, but slowly have had the feel of a low come back. That is real good that u test before you drive, ALWAYS have that sugar/candy/soda, handy.
