Unhappy Anyone else w/less than perfect numbers??

Hi All,
My husband and I are gearing up to do IVF next month and I am working with Maternal/Fetal med specialist in preparation. She has me eating protein every 3 hours and trying to get A1C down from 7.8. I am on the pump w/ CGMS. I am really frustrated b/c I hardly have a day where I don't hit 200 at least once... I don't stay there but I reach it. I also have hypothyroidism. I am 35 and fear that the MD will not give the approval to the repro endocrinologist to go ahead w/ the IVF. My sister is also type 1 and had 2 perfectly healthy children w/ no prenatal care whatsoever and no pump. I feel like I am doing the best I can but that it is not good enough. I am not meeting my goal but it isn't due to a lack of trying.

I don't want to seem like a know it all, considering I don't.

Today I toyed with low-carb. I normally eat a lot of bread, prior to diagnosis I would eat so much carbs it was crazy.

I was able to eat my lunch without an injection because I removed a lot of what would normally spike me. Some said a salad should have had bolus to compensate for it regardless, I found in that one instance that maybe I escaped barely without it but could have maybe done with a unit or 2 of novorapid - 50% less than I would normally use.

Is there anything you can do dietry-wise to help?

I'm way new to all of this, so I'm not really offering advice.. perhaps somewhat curious as to your situation.
