If your cycle is changing it's going to be harder to predict when is best to try to conceive. I posted some stuff about tracking your cervical mucus to determine the best times to conceive around ovulation in a post about using an ovulator kit? You may want to read that, I pulled that material from a website on tips for successfully conceiving and I can say it worked for me but my schedule's been super regular. It may take you a little while longer, 2-3 months until your cycle is consistently around the same length of time. If it's changing you don't have quite the same guarantee. Tracking when you ovulate will probably be helpful for you. Best of luck and congrats on the lower A1C!

Using these kits, it gives several pointers for irregular cycles and such! I used it not exactly sure of how long my cycle is, varied from 28-31 days since being off of birth control, so I started using the urine sticks on day 10 of my cycle, which is what they recommended for someone unsure of their length of cycle, so granted it did take 2 kits (each is 7 days worth of urine sticks, much like a pregnancy test), these detect an LH surge in the urine, that occurs about 24-48 hours prior to ovulation! Best of luck to you and your husband!
