They used to be called A1c Champions, but renamed themselves about two years ago to Lantus A1c Champions. (No doubt, they're fearing the competition of other basal insulins!)
They will call and interview you for about an hour. You have to be on a pretty free schedule to go where they want you to go for little speaking conferences, which you will have to tape record and "turn in" in order for them to evaluate your performance. Due to this, it seems aimed at people who are retired, as anyone else doesn't have time to take off work in order to speak at these seminars.
The pay isn't that great, either -- it's about $100 a day when you're travelling. It's almost a labor of love thing.
You'll also be expected to read over some literature (which, if you're already a part of these forums, you'll absorb pretty quickly).
If you're bored to tears and have an open schedule, go ahead and sign up. The worst that can happen is you'll be placed on the waiting list until other speakers drop out (or pass away due to old age... hee hee).
Oh yeah, they're looking for both T1 and T2's that have "motivational" speaking capability. They'll determine this during your telephone interview.
