The 3-monther....

Well, I had my 3 month check up today.....

It was not all bad, and it was not all good. You all know what I mean

I have not lost any weight, but I have also not gained any (Happy day!) I really need to kick it up a notch with the exercise. I am doing better with the eating habits though!

My bg's the past 3 months have been all over the place because of my various infusion set issues, and all the stresses that have been going on with Michael's family, and my family back in Minnesota, and my loverly accuracy issues with my old meter, illness, etc........So, we didnt make any insulin changes because there was no pattern to make changes. My bg's have been everywhere.....The range has been from 28-600+. So, I am expecting my A1C to be higher than it was last time.

Also, he gave me a bunch of samples to try to help me to get rid of my migraines that I have been getting lately, which I am excited to try because advil is not kicking it anymore. And, he also gave me another birth control to try. My other kind was making me a basketcase emotionally. Poor Michael has put up with a lot....lol

But anyways, thought I would post an update on my progress from this last appointment. I am really curious to see where my A1C ends up though.

Thanks for listening

I know sometimes these appointments can make us all anxious... it's almost like we feel we are being graded or we are being judged on how we are doing. Ok, honestly, we are being judged somewhat... but I think it's only in effort to help us, ultimately.

I always fear getting bad news or bad results, but it's better to know, face up to it, and then make changes, then to just let things stand uncorrected...which could lead to further problems. Those results aren't meant to make you feel bad- instead, it can serve as motivation to fight harder.

It's more than understandable if you don't receive the results that you might have hoped for... it sounds like there has been a lot of things going in your life... but hopefully now things are settling down for you...

That's awesome that your weight has stayed level. It's a lot harder than you think to do that. I know for myself, my weight is constantly fluctating... which I don't think is all together good Congratulations on that!

I wish you lots of luck with your A1c. I know it's hard not to, but try to not stress out about it too much~ it's only feedback on if changes need to be made or not. hope you will keep us posted!

Take care

Have you tried the birth control Nuvaring? I tried every pill under the sun, low dose horomone, high dose, medium dose, even that Orthoevra patch . . . and all them make me completely psycho. I hated life from the moment I woke up. It was awful. I completely understand how that is. I've been on the Nuvaring for over a year and it's the most convenient, very hard to mess up on, and doesn't affect your horomone levels as much as pills. Just my $.02 if you want it.

Laura.........good luck with your A1c.

What medication did your doc give you for the migraines? I also suffer from them and take Imitrex.

I go in next week for the 3 month tests. I hope I haven't done too bad this time. I hate it when I dissappoint the Dr. Looking back the best A1C I've had is 5.6 or 5.8. That was when I was on insulin. It creep up to 6.2 when I got off insulin and back on Metformin. I have no idea what it will be this time. A couple of days ago I was sick and my readings were so high. I had a 209 after lunch.
I also have to worry about the cholesteral. You know this heart thing isn't fun either. I sure don't need to plug up again. I try to eat right and work out. We will see next week after the tests. Then I will be on pins and needles for a week waiting on the results.

Thank you so much everyone for your kind words and encouragement! If you only knew how much it helps me out. I am sorry to complain, I seem to do a lot of that in my postings lately. It just frustrates me that I work very hard, and not a lot always comes from it. But, I'm hanging in there, and all will be well. I just wish that I could get that A1C under 7.......

For the birth control, I have not tried nuvaring. I have seen the commercials though. So you like it then? He gave me another pill to try. In the area that I live, there are a lot of people who don't believe in taking birth control, and so my dr doesn't get many samples (just no need for it if nobody is going to use it). But, if this pill doesn't work, I will ask him to let me try nuvaring. But, I have been all over the place emotionally, and then life's stresses get on top of that and it throws me all over. I am just scared of it leading to something like depression.

Thanks again for listening to me. It means a lot
