Re: Diabetes Software for Windows Pocket PC

Just wondering with all of the Eltronic Gadgetry out there, Why aren't there any programs for the Pocket PC Operating Windows CE, PPC 2003, 2003SE or even the new Win Mobile 5?

Can you believe that Animas does not offer any software for these operating systems I listed above?

They are only have the Palm compatible stuff. Didn't the Palm go by the same way of the 8 Track Tape and 45 Records?

Any Thoughts on this

yeah, I've found diabetes pilot to be pretty good.... also I sent them some ideas for future revisions and got a quick response from the owner... nice!

Haven't tried any others though to compare... diabetes pilot and calorie king have made my pocket pc very handy!

I am actually looking to get a pump and am thinking about going with the omnipod.

I think it would be awesome if they could basically incorporate a palm into the controller, since it already has the build of a palm.

That would be great for those who carry a palm, cellphone, etc. That way you arent carrying several different devices. You'd have one that could work both as a PDA and an insulin pump management device.

I am writing a Diabetes Management Sight right now. It is web based and with the .NET framework works very well on the windows mobile 2005 platform. You can connect your freestyle flash to it and ul meter data to the sight(on your PC, all meters will be supported), and obviously enter and review graphs via a handheld device with internet. I need to run the link by Tony again to ask him if I can post it, but I look forward to launching it soon. It's been 3 years in the making.

This is only a sneak peak, and this is my developer server so please be kind to it. It is >NOT< a production server (I do have a dedicated prod server, but I am not ready to release it yet. It will NOT be hosted at brionh.com. I must ask Tony again before I can post a link to it.

The Animas Corp has software for the (Antiquated Palm) but not for the Windows Platform Pocket PC Handheld.

Personally If I were a corp trying to make money I would develop for the main stream Windows CE, 2003, 2003SE, Win Mobile 5.

So if you have a Palm Pilot Animas 1250 is the way to go.

Personally now that I using the Animas Pump and it's EZ Manager Software is for PC desktop and Palm only, Thats ok but I use a Pocket PC for all my work and do not own a Palm Pilot.

You know it's a pretty sorry state when Palm uses Win Mobile on their new devices.

What I'm Saying is Animas and Johnson & Johnson get with the Program.

Unhappy Animas Camper for this very same reason.
