Treat some carbs diffrently?

I was wondering....

If I ate, say, a Snickers bar, would I treat it with insulin diffrently then I would, say, pizza? Figuratively (yes I looked up how to spell that one) speaking, they would have the same ammount of carbs. Thanks!

I would. For something with high fat like pizza or very high in protein, the effect on the bg will take much longer, personally I've seen significant effect even 6 hours after these meals. That means that if I gave enough insulin to begin with I'd go seriously low before the carbs kick in, the other alternative will be to under inject but then I will go high when the insulin has finished it's job. My solution will be 2 injections for these type of meals, when I start eating and another one 2-3 hours later depends on my bg.

Yep. Pizza is known to take a long time to digest. It's trickier covering it with injections, because if you inject the full amount at the start of the meal you'll most likely end up going low. Treat the low and later on those carbs plus the pizza will come back to give you a major high.

I've had a pump for ove a year now and I still haven't braved the pizza beast yet. My experiences with Chinese & Indian food don't leave me much hope for pizza!

But a Snickers bar... I could probably handle that.

If you are using a pump perhaps you can do what is called a Square Wave Bolus. This is the normal bolus amount for the particular food, which is spread over a period of your choosing, anything up to 8 hours. I have a Minimed pump and this facility is available on it.
