Pump/Lantus

I am curious if anyone else has went off the pump and switched to Lantus (or just went off the pump). I was on the Minimed for 6 years and went off of it about 10 days ago. I now take Lantus and Novolog and so far its going really well. Not sure if I like it better than the pump but I do like having a little break from it.

How come you went off the pump?

Are you getting better control now?

How ironic, I was on Lantus for 6 months, has very good control on Lantus and humalog but has some troble still with digesting fats. I started on the MM508 in March and LOVE it. Great control. Yes it is alot more work but it is much easier. Dont' let the promos about Lantus fool you. It DOES PEAK in 12 hrs (dose dependent) but the lows aren't as bad as with Lente or Ultralente. It also works longer than 24 hrs and that is why all the long-acting insulins are so unpredictable.
