| | | I also hear that comment from time to time. I usually just point to my pump and say "that's what this is for".

| | | I still can't get my wife to shake that old way of thinking. I tell her I can eat what I want, I just have to make sure I take enough insulin to counter it. She insists I am wrong, and that my educator should not lead me to believe that.

| | | when i tell people i am a diabetic i have had many people look at me and then say "but your not fat" I hate that!!!
I always tell people that there are 2 different types of diabetes, and not all type 2's are "fat" i can sit for hours and educate people on my disease...i think this is why i am a health educator hahaha

| | | I say something along the lines of "no, I was going to look at some, and then offer it to you!"
And when they look at me I tell them I can eat whenever they can. |

| | | My guess: the more you've educated those around you to say "crank that thing up to stun," the less you're going to get annoying questions. Plus, it has to make you to smile when they say it, doesn't it? |

Of course, there is likely to be a significant dose of Novorapid taken to go with them.
Please note the use plurals. Offering me one is unwise, I need balance and balance with only one is extremely difficult. |

High Fructose Corn Syrup

Coconut Oil to do my frying and baking

| | | I use to get that a lot when I was a lot younger and it mostly came from older adults. I am rarely ever questioned about having things that are sweet. If someone offers me something sugary it never bothers me b/c it means to me that I am not just a "diabetic" to them, I am a normal person. I think the only time I am bothered is when I am at functions and there is nothing for me to drink. There is every type of sugar soda and sugared tea but no diet . No biggie, I just get water but it would be nice to have diet. I will often just bring my own drinks so I have something I like. |

| | | Can I? yes.
Should I? probably not but then neither should anyone else eat junk food
an answer that works for most foods that trigger the "can you eat that?" question. |
