hey!!
i'm orel! im 18 years old and i live in israel! (so if my english is no so good dont laugh on my... lol )
i was diagnosed befor 2 years old and i think start to use in pump!
i want to know if it is worthwhile!
its really make my life easyer?
Maybe some ways easier some ways not. A pump gives you better control and can make meals and exercise more flexible. It takes more effort to use a pump. You have to be willing and able to test your blood sugar more often, learn how to count carbohydrates among other things. There is more pump information at www.diabetetsnet.com on how pumps are used and what it takes to use one. good luck.
Hi orelk1,
I have been Type 1 since 1993 and I just went on a pump two months ago. I am kicking myself for not doing it sooner. I FEEL better, I feel more in control and I can eat when I want and I've learned to use the pump to most of its advantages. Yes. You do have to test more often, buts its worth it. I don't struggle with as many severe lows or highs; everything is more even for me. Good luck. I use the Minimed Paradigm 522. Rudi
I have been using a Minimed pump for a little less than 2 years and I love it. It has made my life so much easier in so many ways. It took me a few months before I really got used to it and had my rates set and I sometimes got mad or frustrated before that. I'm glad I stuck with it and now I wouldn't give up my pump for anything.
