I think Alka-Seltzer lowers my blood sugar!

So I took some Alka-Seltzer Cold and Cough, the kind that you drop in water and drink, anyway, I took that, and took a nap. Woke up 2 hours later and my blood sugar was 30.

Ok, so I thought maybe having that hypo was from my swim practice earlier in the day. So the day goes on, and before Im about to go to bed, around 12am, I took another dose of the Alka-Seltzer. Woke up around 2 and a half hours later and my blood sugar was 33!

So I was thinking, maybe the Alka-Seltzer is lowering my BS. I had 2 cookies around 1130pm and did not give myself any insulin, because I dident think it was neccesary for eating 2 cookies. Does anyone have an answer for what was going on?

I think you're making too much hypothesis from too little of data.

What was your BG before you took the A-S? That's the key question. Otherwise, swimming will certainly continue to lower your blood sugar for around 24 hours after actually swimming, and illness can cause fluctuations in BG too.

Too little data to make a conclusion, but no one can discount your theory either.
