So looks like I'm part of the club...

I saw my endo today and was informed that I am plain old type 1. To prove the point, I got my first script for ketone strips. I wouldn't be surprised if they changed their mind again though...

eh (not ey canadians ), it's just a label. What difference does it make what label you get? Either way you know what you have to do.

At least you finally have confirmation as to type. Did they think you were type 2 before the tests?

1.5 if I recall for her. Which I basically said is just type 1. So what if you get it at 20 years vs. 20 months, it's type 1. Age shouldn't affect the diagnosis.

Diabetes is an Art, NOT a Science. You must master the control by skills and not by knowledge alone.

Right. They thought it was 1.5. They thought that because I needed such little insulin at first. Part of 1.5 is also a slow disease progression, often taking years to even require insulin. I was on insulin 4 months after dx, then my need for it kept going up, so more like a typical "honeymoon" then 1.5.
