How do you tell when Humalog goes bad?

I see things floating in the bottle but they are probably air bubbles. How do you tell the difference between air bubbles and "particles"?

Particles or clumping used to happen a lot in Regular insulin. Humalog is harder as it is clear. I have never seen particles in my Humalog, but I am sure it can happen. Let the bottle sit for 1/2 hour. The bubbles (if that is what they are) should disipate. If they don't, it is safe to assume it is particles and the insulin has gone bad. Have you seen a drop in potency? That would also be a strong indicator.

I've only had it happen once, but the particles were white in color, and they obviously were not air bubbles. They weren't huge, but you could see the difference. I had been having un-explained high's for about two days when I saw it, and opening a new bottle fixed everything.
