I buy mine on ebay. Much cheaper than any local or online store I've found. I just do a search on ebay for "onetouch ultra test strips" and quite a few offers will be found. I always go with one that has a "By Now" option. You can usually find a deal like 100 test strips plus 100 lancets for about $50.00 total. This would cost me around $100.00 at my local drug stores.

I would also recommend eBay! My insurance covers 100 strips right now, but since I'm new to this and figuring what causes what in my sugar, I am testing a lot. I've bought 100 strips from 3 different eBay sellers all for less than $45 each including shipping! Just check their feedback and pay attention to the stated expiration dates

one touch strips

My son has no insurance so I also buy his on ebay. The best I have done is $26.00 for 100. Haven't been ripped off yet. Make sure the seller lists the expiration date, shipping costs and has a decent rating. Also check the "just listed" catagory. Sometimes people sell them at the Buy Now price fairly cheaply and you don't have to follow the bids.
If you are really low income and without insurance Abbott has a program to provide test strips at no cost, (Freestyle). You will need some paperwork from your doctor

LOL Stace!!!

Yes, eBay has the best prices I've found so far. You just have to factor in the shipping time. I've only bought from there once so far (just a couple weeks ago), and it took a week for them to arrive! Also as 56susi stated .... make sure they have the expiration date on there, and there is pleanty of time for you to get them used up!!

I have been using an online place American Diabetes Wholesale - Diabetes Testing Supplies - Discount Diabetic Supplies - American Diabetes Wholesale up until that point, with very good results and who have the best prices I've found so far, $40 and some change for 50 strips to your door and I think it's $74 and some change for 100 strips to your door. Shipping usually takes about 4 days to arrive.

I've been buying them on Ebay for about 5 months now...never a problem. I get 200 at a time for around $100-$115...with shipping. I had problems with the cheaper mail-order companies...go figure!

One Touch Ultra strips available

Hi, everyone. I've been lurking for a while, and I'd like to thank all of you for your great help. Like others on this board, I used to buy my strips off ebay. To save money, I'd only test when I felt either really low or high.

But in December, I managed to find a full-time job with a 80% covered benefit plan (!!!). I now test 6 times a day and my last hbA1c is much better.

In response to 'daryop', and any others, I now have at my disposal a generous benefit plan with no maximum in strips (so I'm told). I know I can just order what I need, but I feel bad for those who only test sparingly due to the cost and I've been wondering lately if my extras would help anyone else.

So, I'd like to offer my One Touch Ultra strips to those on this forum, if they're needed. If there is someone who is struggling to pay for these, I can forward my boxes for a nominal fee. My out of pocket cost is about 35$/box of 100 (canadian $), and I can provide them to someone at that cost, plus shipping.

Not sure of the legal implications of providing strips from my own perscription, but perhaps someone here knows a better method?

About me - My name is Gordon, live in Toronto, Canada. I'm 39 and have been Type 1 since I was 12. You can email me at gorshum@gmail.com with questions, or respond to this thread for a wider discussion on this idea.
