Got the Minimed 722 Pump comments/questions

1) How do I deactivate the BGL check alarm once its been set. For example I ate late and went to sleep and don't want to be woken up by the alarm.

2) next to status it sais U100. What's U100

3) Sleeping with this thing clipped on to my boxers is a not too comfortable....I started to wear shorts to sleep so I can take the clip off and put the pump in my pocket.... What I dont understand is how people put their pump on the nightstand....I turn a lot and would rib that thing out of my body if i left it on the nightstand.

4) When taking a shower do I need to place the little cover cap on? Or is there no chance of water getting in without it anyway?

1. I dunno

2. U-100 is the strength of insulin you are using- 100units/mL.

3. I let the pump float free under the covers. Works for me.

4. Just disconnect for the shower. The cap thing is if you're swimming in like pond scum or something. Even then I probably wouldn't bother with it.

What happens if you do a few turns...doesnt the tubing get tangled arround and then there is a a possible risk of pulling out the catheter?

what I meant is how do I cancel it BEFORE it goes off... if I want to go to sleep and not have it wake me up.

Hit ACT then go to the bolus menu and press ACT. Scroll down to the bottom and it say BG reminder. Hit ACT and you will see On Off. Just highlight Off and it will turn it off.

Sometimes. I seriously can't sleep with it on my waist band though. I use the long tubing, so I have quite a bit of slack. You can make a safety loop too.

sleeping with the pump.
I just toss it into the bed along with me and the cat (no she does not mess with the tubing and only has once or twice).
In my almost 8 years of pumping, I have lost a site MAYBE 4 times.

The first week or so when I started pumping, it took me awhile to get comfortable with clipping the pump to the waistband of my PJ's. Now........I don't even realize it's there.

I do not cap off to shower, but I always cap off at the beach, in a pool, or in my hot tub.
