yep I read it.

anyone heard of vapourware? - a mate of mine who worked in the computer industry was very scathing about it - essentially companies would release information about up and coming products, sometimes this stuff was just concepts. Everyone would get all excited, and then the "product" would then not appear, or would be somewhat less marvellous than the pre-release information suggested - hence the term Vapourware.

sounds like more vapourware to me...

specially bred mice which have a genetic abnormality - no evidence that such a mechanism causes or plays a role in type 2, they don't even say whether the mice have type 2, which if this was significant mechanism they most surely would have.

sounds like a lot of promises they won't be able to deliver on - same as when they found out leptin was involved in fat metabolism/fat mobilisation - more genetic mice mutants which were fat, and then got thin when you gave them leptin. In real people who were obese giving them leptin made no difference whatsoever - mind you they did develop a treatment for people who lacked the ability to produce leptin (a very small and rare group).

oh and they can do things to mice in labs, they can't do to humans.
